Kelsey Myers ’08 has completed her world record attempt at being the first woman to complete the equivalent of six triathlons on six continents in six days. The incredible journey took her across the globe, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Portugal, Morocco, Oman, Australia, and finally, Malibu, California, on International Women’s Day.

At each location, Kelsey conquered a .9-mile swim, a 24.8-mile bike ride, and a 6.2-mile run, showcasing her remarkable endurance and determination. Reflecting on her feat, Kelsey expressed her relief at the smooth logistics, stating, “The biggest concern I had was the logistics of it — you know, missing a flight or anything going wrong. But I got very lucky again and again!”

The purpose behind this extraordinary endeavor was not just personal achievement but also a noble cause. The world record attempt served as a fundraiser for ZGiRLS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering middle school girls by helping them overcome self-doubt and build lasting confidence.

Guinness World Records is currently reviewing the evidence presented, which includes validation from two witnesses at each destination, photographic proof from every location, and GPS routing data to verify the completion of the triathlons.

Looking ahead, Kelsey Myers already has her sights set on another ambitious goal. When asked about her future plans, she revealed, “I’m already planning to race seven triathlons on seven continents in seven days.” This determination and drive exemplify her unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and inspiring others.

Kelsey’s remarkable achievement not only breaks records but also serves as a beacon of inspiration for women and girls worldwide.
