Pepperdine men’s basketball head coach Ed Schilling will be inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026, according to an announcement from the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Board of Directors.
Schilling is one of 18 individuals selected for induction and will be honored at a ceremony scheduled for March 18, 2026. The event will also include a public reception earlier that day at the Hall of Fame Museum in New Castle, Indiana.
“I am truly honored and humbled to be selected for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame,” said Schilling. “Having grown up and coached in a state renowned for its basketball legacy, I truly appreciate the significance of this recognition. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my teammates and coaches, the players that I’ve had the privilege to mentor, the administrators who placed their trust in me, and my family for their unwavering support. This achievement reflects our collective journey and the profound impact of so many individuals who have shaped my path.”
Schilling attended Lebanon High School, where he contributed to three sectional and three regional titles. As a senior, he averaged 9.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and led the state with 8.0 assists per game on a team that finished with a record of 22-4. He also played his sophomore year at Connersville High School before transferring to Lebanon.
He continued his basketball career at Miami University (Ohio), setting school records for career assists (629) and single-game assists (17). Over four seasons with Miami University teams that went 66-51 overall—including an appearance in two NCAA Tournaments—he accumulated 474 points, 332 rebounds, and ranks tenth in program history with 148 steals.
As a high school varsity coach over eleven seasons, Schilling compiled a record of 165-96 across stints at Western Boone, Logansport, and Park Tudor schools in Indiana. His teams won five sectionals, three regionals, three semi-states championships as well as two Class 2A state titles at Park Tudor.
Currently in his second season leading Pepperdine Waves men’s basketball team—which has started its campaign with a record of three wins and three losses—Schilling continues his coaching career on the West Coast.
