The Los Angeles Rams announced on Apr. 17 the release of a new video titled Thursday, inspired by New Line Cinema’s movie Friday, as the highlight of their 2026 NFL Draft campaign. The film is available on the team’s digital and social media platforms and marks the start of a week-long buildup to the NFL Draft.
The project blends football, comedy, and Los Angeles culture to engage fans ahead of one of football’s biggest events. Featuring O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Destin Tucker—sons of Ice Cube and Chris Tucker—Thursday reimagines iconic roles from Friday in scenes filmed at the original house in West Athens, Los Angeles. The cast also includes Terry Crews, rapper YG, Rams players Kevin Dotson, Jared Verse, Byron Young, and radio personality Big Boy.
The video centers around anticipation for potential Rams picks in the upcoming draft through comedic references that tie back to both football excitement and nostalgia for Friday. “This project is a celebration of Los Angeles—the city we call home—and its culture, creativity and global influence,” said Kathryn Kai-ling Frederick, Chief Marketing Officer, Los Angeles Rams. “Friday is more than a movie; it’s a cultural touchstone. By reimagining it through Thursday, tying it to the Draft, and connecting it to real fan experiences across the city, we’re creating something that truly represents LA.”
As part of broader draft festivities at Hollywood Park in Inglewood—a mixed-use development anchored by SoFi Stadium—the team will host activities including this year’s Zillow Draft House pop-up near Cinépolis Inglewood starting April 16. Fans can participate in immersive experiences such as stepping into a branded living room simulating being drafted or playing on a turf field.
From April 23-25 at Hollywood Park’s Main Street area during multi-day celebrations like the Rams Block Party presented by Zillow and Fan Fair carnival games will be held with proceeds supporting access initiatives via the Rams Foundation.
Agency TBWAChiatDay Los Angeles collaborated with the team on Thursday’s production to reflect authentic elements from LA communities where fans live.
