Pepperdine women’s volleyball players Emma McMahon and Chloe Pravednikov have been named to the West Coast Conference (WCC) All-Academic Team, according to an announcement from the conference. The honor recognizes student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, contribute significantly to their team, and are in at least their second year at their institution.
In addition to McMahon and Pravednikov, sophomores Maggie Beauer and Ella Piskorz, along with junior Brynne McGhie, received WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Pepperdine is among three schools—alongside Portland and Santa Clara—to have multiple athletes selected for the All-Academic Team this season.
Emma McMahon, a senior defensive specialist/libero majoring in psychology, ranked fourth on the Waves with 142 digs and 27 service aces during the season. This is her first selection to the All-Academic Team.
Chloe Pravednikov, a sophomore outside hitter studying pre-business administration, led her team with 310 kills (11th in the WCC) and contributed 338 points (16th in the conference), as well as adding 155 digs and 39 blocks. She also earned All-WCC First Team honors this year. This marks her first WCC Academic recognition.
Honorable mention recipients included Maggie Beauer, who was ranked 14th in the WCC with 291 kills; Brynne McGhie, who was ranked 18th in assists for her role as secondary setter; and Ella Piskorz, an All-WCC First Team honoree who led the conference in blocks and ranked among national leaders.
The full list of WCC Volleyball All-Academic Team members includes student-athletes from Saint Mary’s, San Diego, Washington State, LMU, Portland, Pacific, Santa Clara, Gonzaga, Oregon State—and Pepperdine’s own Emma McMahon and Chloe Pravednikov.
Pepperdine women’s volleyball has participated in 26 NCAA Tournaments since 1981 and has won 12 WCC Championships. The program has produced multiple Olympians and boasts over two decades of All-American selections.
