Pepperdine University has announced its 2026 baseball signing class, adding eight new student-athletes to the Waves program. The group includes four pitchers and four position players, with five recruits from California, two from Arizona, and one from Illinois.

Head coach Tyler LaTorre commented on the incoming class: “We are very excited about this 2026 class. I am extremely thankful for our coaching staff for the time and efforts that they have put into building this group of student-athletes. This class is made up of young men who exemplify Pepperdine University and our Waves Baseball program and what we stand for. Each one of them excel in the classroom, on the field, and in their communities, all while having a strong faith journey that will continue here in Malibu.”

LaTorre highlighted the pitching talent in the class: “The pitchers in the class have real arm talent that is matched with the ability to compete with plus pitches in the strike zone. I am excited to see what Coach Fecteau and each of our four commits can do as they develop once they are here. This group of four arms has a chance to contribute right away early in their Pepperdine careers.”

He also discussed the versatility among position players: “On the position player side, we continue to recruit versatility and athleticism. All four commits can play all over the field and play each of those positions at a high level. Two left-handed hitters and two switch hitters in the class also adds diversity to our future lineups. The overall athleticism of this group is really special and we are looking forward to their instant impact next year.”

The 2026 recruiting class includes:

– Jameson Berigan (RHP), Thousand Oaks High School, California
– Wyatt Denton (C), Las Plumas High School, Berry Creek, California
– Zachary Durben (INF/C), Desert Mountain High School, Phoenix, Arizona
– Aidan Martinez (OF), Notre Dame Prep High School, Scottsdale, Arizona
– Eric Nelson (RHP), Madera High School, Madera, California
– Jonah Sidel (RHP), Crespi Carmelite High School, Los Angeles/Encino, California
– Tanner Wall (INF), Saint Francis High School, Palo Alto, California
– Ryan Wollschlager (RHP), St. Laurence High School, Tinley Park, Illinois

Pepperdine’s baseball program has a history of success among mid-major programs nationwide. The Waves won an NCAA National Championship in 1992 and have appeared in 28 NCAA Tournaments overall. The team plays at Eddy D. Field Stadium in Malibu and has produced numerous MLB players as well as All-American selections.
