Pepperdine University’s beach volleyball team improved its record to 6-6 after securing two 4-1 victories at the Queen’s Cup in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Waves remain undefeated in tournament play with a 4-0 record as they approach the final day of competition.

In their first match of the day, Pepperdine faced Concordia and secured wins in flights four and five in straight sets. On courts one and two, both pairs lost their opening sets but rallied to win. Gabbie Perez and Madison Snow came back from an initial loss, enduring a lengthy second set with 54 serves before winning the tiebreaker.

Against Saint Mary’s, Pepperdine repeated the 4-1 scoreline. This time, all matches were decided in two sets, with only two rallies exceeding the standard point threshold. Sonia Mancuso and Alice Jagielska contributed a win during this round, while Emma Eden and Michaela Cyrani, Gabbie Perez and Madison Snow, along with Emi Erickson and Ginevra Merlini remained unbeaten for the day.

The Queen’s Cup concludes tomorrow as Pepperdine is scheduled to face No. 12 Hawai’i at 11:45 a.m. PST and Chaminade at 3:30 p.m. PST. Live statistics will be available for both matches.

Host school Hawai’i is the only ranked opponent Pepperdine will meet during their stay in Hawaii. Both teams share similar results against common opponents such as USC, San Jose State, and Concordia. Hawai’i began the tournament with a win over then-No. 1 UCLA but recently lost to Saint Mary’s—a team that Pepperdine defeated earlier in the event.

“Established in 2011, Pepperdine beach volleyball quickly rose to national prominence, winning two national championships in three years (2012, 2014) while reaching the final four in five of its first six seasons. Joining the WCC ahead of the 2016 season with the sport becoming NCAA-sanctioned, the Waves won the inaugural and first three WCC Championships while reaching eight straight conference championship games from 2016-24. The program has consistently recruited top talent in the sport, with 21 student-athletes garnering All-American honors since 2012.”
