The No. 6 Pepperdine men’s volleyball team defeated Menlo College in straight sets on Mar. 15, remaining undefeated in conference play at the Haynes-Prim Pavilion.

The win keeps Pepperdine at the top of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation standings with a 4-0 record. The match saw contributions from 13 different Waves players, highlighting the team’s depth as they move further into the season.

Head coach Jonathan Winder said, “I thought our guys did a good job to compete well today and served well again. Andrej moved the ball around and got everyone involved on offense as well. It was good for us to get some other guys in there as we continue to move deeper into the season.” Grant Lamoureux led Pepperdine with 11 kills, while Jose Gomez and Matt Mazur each added eight. Lamoureux returned to the starting lineup after more than a month and made an immediate impact.

The first set was closely contested with seven ties before Pepperdine pulled away for a 25-16 win. In the second set, Lamoureux and Gomez combined for most of the team’s kills, helping secure a 25-15 victory. The third set saw Pepperdine hit .600 with six aces and four blocks, closing out the match 25-12.

Game notes show that Andrej Polomac contributed to 25 of Pepperdine’s 35 assists, while Gomez led in hitting accuracy at .500. The Waves recorded a season-high 17 service aces and outhit Menlo .475 to .115 overall.
