Pepperdine University junior Lizzy Crawford has been named to the West Coast Conference (WCC) All-Academic Team for cross country, as announced by the conference. In total, eight Pepperdine athletes received recognition, with seven earning honorable mention.
On the men’s team, Elijah Gentry, Henry Hicks, Kaleb McElfish, and Patrick Thomas were honored with all-academic honorable mentions. For the women’s team, Ashley Eagan, Jessica Guardino, and Grace Simpson also received honorable mention.
Crawford was recognized as one of 10 athletes on the WCC women’s all-academic team. She led Pepperdine’s women’s squad in every race this season and maintained a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a political science degree. Her achievements this season included winning the Waves Invite on August 29 and recording the fourth-fastest 6K time in program history at 21:04.5. This is her second consecutive year receiving all-academic honors from the conference.
Selections for these academic awards are made by votes from coaching and athletic staff within the league. Eligibility requires athletes to compete in at least half of their team’s events and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 after their most recent completed term at Pepperdine. First-year students and transfers are not eligible for nomination.
The recognized student-athletes will return to compete for Pepperdine during the upcoming 2026 track season, with schedules to be announced later.
