The County of Ventura congratulates Jeff Gorell for being elected the next County Supervisor representing District 2!
Gorell is a 20-year resident of Ventura County and third-generation member of the U.S. Navy. Gorell served two tours of duty in Afghanistan and is a Navy Captain in the United States Navy Reserve. He is the former Deputy Mayor of the City of Los Angeles for Homeland Security and Public Safety. Gorell represented most of the County as a State Assemblymember from 2010-2014. His Committee Assignments included Accountability and Administrative Review, Judiciary, Labor and Employment, Utilities and Commerce, Legislative Budget, and Budget, which he Vice-chaired. Gorell worked as a Criminal Prosecutor in the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. He also taught local college students for many years at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
