5.5% of Ventura County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Ventura County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 24,236 people out of the 845,255 living in Ventura County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Ventura County has increased compared to the 5.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Ventura County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 413,988 people who had a job during that time, 3,847 were employed in the Armed Forces and 410,141 belonged to the civilian labor force.
