His appointment has been well-received by Matthew Ward, Cal Lutheran's vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Success, who expressed his enthusiasm for the future of the athletics program under Davis's leadership.

In an internal promotion, Erik Scherer has been appointed as the head baseball coach at Cal Lutheran. Scherer, a former player for the university and longtime assistant coach, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “I am grateful and honored that Cal Lutheran has selected me to be the head baseball coach.” Howard Davis, the director of athletics, also shared his excitement about Scherer's appointment, praising his dedication and success within the program over the years.

Tim Settem has joined Cal Lutheran as the head coach for the men’s and women’s water polo programs, with Davis emphasizing Settem's vast collegiate experience and success in the sport. Cal Lutheran Athletics has partnered with Sidearm Sports to revamp its website, providing fans with a modern and user-friendly platform to stay updated on all 22 varsity sports. The new website will soon be accompanied by a mobile app, offering easy access to news releases, box scores, photo galleries, videos, and more for Cal Lutheran Athletics.

In sports highlights, the Kingsmen Golf team achieved victory at the CA State Intercollegiate tournament, with Adam Cartozian setting a program record with his outstanding performance.
