California Lutheran University is supported by a dedicated team of staff members who play a crucial role in student life, from residence assistance to career guidance. These staff are committed to ensuring students successfully navigate their academic and personal journeys.

Andrew Castro, the Assistant Director of Residence Life and Student Conduct, has been with Cal Lutheran for five years. He supervises resident assistants and assists students with roommate issues and campus life adjustments. Castro highlights Move-in Day as a standout time of year, emphasizing the importance of this event in fostering a welcoming environment for new and returning students.

Leslie Madrigal, a Financial Aid Counselor, has worked at the university for three years. Madrigal focuses on explaining financial aid processes to students, particularly first-generation college students. "The most meaningful moments I have working with students are definitely when I get to help first-generation college students."

Kecia Davis serves as both the Director of Health, Wellness, and Performance and head softball coach. With 34 years at the university, Davis supports students as a sports medicine instructor, advisor, adjunct faculty, and coach. Davis recalls a memorable 1995 trip when the softball team confronted a tornado warning in Iowa, a time cemented in her memory due to the camaraderie it fostered.

Jeff Kohagen, a Supervisor at Ullman To Go, has been with the university for three years. He helps students with dietary needs and meal plan queries. A special moment for Kohagen was receiving a T-shirt from a tennis player as a token for his son.

Cindy Lewis, Executive Director of Career Services, has invested 25 years in guiding students at Cal Lutheran. She helps students secure internships and job opportunities, stating that the most rewarding part of her job is helping recent graduates find employment. "I helped them update their resumes and cover letters," she notes, emphasizing her role in student career success.

Yvonne Wilber, Librarian and Head of Undergraduate Instruction and Outreach, has served for ten years. Wilber's primary role is to teach students information literacy, supporting various programs that encourage students to think critically and explore their academic passions.

Loo values seeing students reflect on their growth post-crisis. "Knowing I was able to play a small part in their journey is incredibly rewarding," she remarks.

Each staff member brings unique contributions, creating an environment that supports students' educational and personal development throughout their time at California Lutheran University.
