California Lutheran University is hosting "The In-Between: Senior Art Exhibit 2025," showcasing the personal journeys of its senior art students. The exhibition, which is free to the public, will be open from March 20 through May 16 at the William Rolland Gallery of Fine Art on the university's campus in Thousand Oaks. Visitors can attend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. An opening reception is scheduled for March 20 from 4-6:30 p.m.
Jesse Groves, curator of Galleries and Exhibitions and Visual Arts faculty member, emphasized the unique nature of each student's journey. “Each student enters their senior year with unique interests and skills,” he said. “Through collaboration with selected faculty members, they refine their craft and push their creative boundaries. The In-Between showcases the culmination of that journey — a personal and diverse collection of artworks that highlight the artists’ growth.”
The exhibit features works by nine students who chose "The In-Between" as their theme. Their creations draw from nature, human experiences, and storytelling across various mediums such as photography, graphic design, digital art, illustrations, and paintings.
Students in Cal Lutheran's Visual Arts program explore a wide range of artistic forms and approaches to develop skills for both personal expression and professional application. The curriculum includes painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, animation, visual effects, and photography.
Cal Lutheran is located at 60 W. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks. Attendance to both the exhibition and its opening reception is free.
